Total Eclipse

The eclipse… wow… what can I say? Being in Ohio in the path of totality, you kind of got sick of hearing about it constantly leading up to the event. I mean, it was constantly being talked about, constant merch surrounding you, constant crazy theories about what would happen (even though this happens all the time, not just here) and it just got overwhelming. I was ready for it to happen already. Don’t get me wrong, I was excited to see it and, yes, I did get a shirt because I’m that kind of person to get a shirt. Especially if it’s unique enough. What I wasn’t prepared for was how awesome it would be.

For a few minutes leading up to it, our birds went nuts! They were chirping like crazy, getting louder and louder. Then totality happened, the birds went silent, and the peepers in our bog started to peep. The look of the eclipse and world around us was absolutely surreal. I know for the totality to happen where we live here is a once in a lifetime event, but I would love to travel to see it again. I get it now. I get the hype. It’s absolutely mesmerizing and incredible to experience!

When we woke up that morning, it was raining, but the clouds cleared away just a couple of hours before it started and I’m so grateful! My camera isn’t the best, but here’s a few photos that I managed to take. I hope you enjoy them as it does not do it justice in the least, but I did also take a photo of what the surroundings looked like as well.
